Report: Rodmersham 2s (already safe) secured a very comfortable last day win against Wickham Park 2s (already relegated) notable principally for one or two personal milestones.
Park invited the home team to bat first on a green, damp track but found Matt Godden and Trevor Jackson in decent form as they built an opening stand of 104. A minor wobble followed with three wickets falling in quick succession before Dan Pumfrett and Matt Baker took the game away from the opposition with an unbroken fourth wicket partnership of 179. Baker slammed a fine maiden century - from 74 balls with 86 runs coming in boundaries - and in support Pumfrett passed 400 league runs for the season with his second fifty of the summer as the declaration came after 46 overs.
Park struggled in reply and found themselves 6 down with only 49 on the board as Pumfrett took his personal tally to 20 for the league campaign and Neville Broad returned 3-10 from 5 overs of off spin. Three further wickets were to fall before three figures came up but a fine unbeaten 62 from the visiting skipper ensured respectability for his team, albeit coming as the home skipper made sure that everyone had a bowl
