Report:Rodmersham won the toss at Bottles Lane, inserted their visitors on a damp track and generally performed well in the field to restrict them to 172-8 from their 50 over allocation. Mark Jewiss, playing his first game of the season, was the pick of the home attack with 3-20 but found good support from Matt Jewiss and Barney Brookes who claimed two apiece.
With the bat however, as has been so all season thus far, the home side failed to perform and fell 30 runs short inside 43 overs, only Graeme Corner with a well built 41 and Dan Ansley with a typically quick 28 looked to be in any sort of form.
The next four matches for Rodmersham 2s are against the sides immediately above and below them so crucial for the season as a whole.
