Report: Rodmersham 2s were quite simply 'mustard' in the field on Saturday, taking several superb catches and bowling tightly to skittled their hosts for only 121 inside 38 overs having been invited to bowl first. Sam Blackwell took 3-21 from his 12 uninterrupted overs and Dan Pumfrett 3-20 from his seven with the remaining wickets shared between Matt Jewiss, Chris Ansley and Michael Willis.
In fairness to the home side, they made life difficult for the Rodmersham batters too, only Jewiss seemingly able to take the attack to their bowlers in his quick-fire 24. However, with wickets falling around him, opener Pumfrett calmly and maturely steered his side to within a dozen or so of their target, leaving Ansley and Willis to fire the winning runs.
