Report: A welcome 20 points for Rodmersham 1s and a good day for the Jones brothers at Bottles Lane last Saturday.The home side opted to bat first on a typically flat looking track and took full advantage. Kevin Jones and Nick Denly put on 132 for the first wicket and runs continued to flow thereafter as Jones went on to compile a quite superb 138, Michael Jones contributed 41 and the others batters who made it to the crease all chipped in as Rodmersham set their opponents a formidable target of 278 for victory.
The Bexleyheath response brought a fine century from opener Patel but otherwise Extras was next best score as the visitors were never quite able to get on top of the home attack. Kevin Jones followed his century with 3-78 from his 15 overs, brother Michael went one better with 4-23 from his 5 overs but Rodmersham had to wait until the third ball of the final over before clinching maximum points.
