Report: Had Rodmersham's tail not wagged so enthusiastically on Saturday this disappointing defeat could have been far more emphatic than the eventual 1 wicket margin. In the main it was poor shot selection which saw the visitors slump to 45-7 before skipper Darren Nokes found support from Matt Jewiss and the two took the total along to 114. Nokes fell 10 runs later for an invaluable 49 but youngsters Matt Baker and Naj Hashimi batted fearlessly to add a further 41 runs and offer Rodmersham's bowlers 165 to defend, a total which had looked highly unlikely a little earlier.
In response, the home side started soundly and were halfway to their target for the loss of only three wickets before Rodmersham's attack hit back' lead by Kevin Jones with 4-39 from his 15 overs. However, despite the ninth wicket going down with Bexleyheath still 11 short of the winning score Rodmersham were just unable to close out the match and instead left with only 6 points to show for their efforts.
