Report: Kevin Jones fired a fine half century on his return to Rodmersham but this proved to be just about the only highlight as the Sittingbourne side suffered a disappointing defeat way down in the depths of East Kent.
Rodmersham were put into bat and lost an early wicket before Jones and opener Dave Cogger began to impose themselves on the home bowling going along at around 6 an over. However, as the pace of the attack slowed so did the run rate and wickets began to fall as frustration crept in, Rodmersham eventually posting a below par 139 all out.
In reply, the home side also lost an early wicket but their other opener managed to hold the innings together with a stylish 56, numbers three, four and five chipping in with useful scores to see them home with plenty of overs to spare
