Match Report

Rodmersham v Old Hartsdonians

Match Type Friendly (40 overs a side)
Venue Bottles Lane
Date Sun 22nd August 2004
Result Rodmersham won by 135 runs

Batting first Rodmersham lost both openers for ducks but the boat was steadied by Tom Munton (51 including 10 fours) making a welcome return after recovery from injuries sustained in a car crash. The middle order failed and it was left to an "all star" lower order to take control of the situation. Neil Barton struck a quick fire 109 including 14 fours and 4 sixes and was ably assisted by Neil Hodkinson(48) as 180 runs were scored from the last 20 overs.

Old Hartsdonians were never up to achieving the daunting victory target and could only manage 145 for 9 from their 40 overs to leave Rodmersham comfortable 135 run winners.
