Match Report

             Hythe v Rodmersham

Match Type East Kent League
Venue Hythe
Date 27th June 2004
Result Hythe won by 9 wkts

Rodmersham batted first and scored a modest 165 for 9 from their 40 overs. Leading scorers were Neil Barton(35), Liam Foster(33), Marc Bond(23) and WIDES with a gratefully received 25. Rodmersham had struggled to field a side and Samantha Roach, one of their ECB qualified  coaches, stepped into the breach. She acquitted herself well in the field and was batting confidently until run out by an act of sheer male chauvinism. She has summoned Darren Nokes to training next week to undergo severe "running between the wickets" practice.

M Dwyer(81*) found the Rodmersham bowling much to his liking and Hythe had no trouble in knocking off the required runs in 31 overs to record a comfortable 9 wicket victory.
