Martin McCague(80*) was the only batsman on either side to make an impression on the game as he made light of the damp conditions. Steve Marsh started to look dangerous as he took toll of some friendly bowling from Paul Mansell who then cheated by bowling a straight one which bowled the ex Kent man neck and crop! Rodmersham did not help their cause by some indifferent fielding which resulted in McCague being dropped twice and Gore Court posting 145 for 3 from their 20 overs.
Uninspired batting coupled with outstanding bowling by Rob Slater (5 for 8 in 4 overs) saw Rodmersham fold to an all out total of 63 to give Gore Court a well deserved victory. Rodmersham's woeful display was summed up by the comical running out of skipper Colin Mason. It is rumoured that his young batting partner, who will remain nameless, is likely to bat at number eleven for the rest of the season!
