Both teams experienced their first taste of 20/20 cricket in this 1st round match of the Shepherd Neame Cup which saw 267 runs scored in 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Rodmersham elected to bat and set off at a brisk pace scoring freely from the visitors attack to post a respectable 166 for 9 from their 20 overs. Batting honours went to Simon Morley (46 from 33 balls) and Lee Jackson (39 from 30 balls).

The Gore Court response started well but once the openers were dismissed  in the eighth over with the score on 47 the following batsmen were subdued by tight bowling and sharp fielding and they could only muster 101 for 7, leaving Rodmersham comfortable victors by 65 runs.
