An outstanding unbeaten fifth wicket partnership of 162 by Paul Mansell(75*) and Richard Cooper(62*) was the highlight of this winning draw for Rodmersham. Asked to bat first on a pitch affected by heavy mid-week rain, the home side were reduced to 43 for 4 from only 15 overs. Mansell and Cooper applied themselves well with a mixture of caution and good running between the wickets and with excellent acceleration in the closing overs the Rodmersham innings closed on a healthy 205 for 4 .
The Catford Wanderers response was dominated by Percy Drummond who scored a classy 66 but no other batsman was able to form a meaningful partnership with him and mount a serious challenge to Rodmersham. Despite wickets falling at regular intervals Catford Wanderers held out for a draw, closing at 178 for 8. Bowling honours went to Marc Bond who took 3 for 45 from 9 overs.
