Requiring maximum points to keep their slim  promotion hopes alive, Rodmersham went into this game with the simple game plan of batting first, scoring 200 and declaring to maximise the chances of bowling the opposition out. All went well at first as Piet Botha(56), Daniel Mason(36) and Colin Mason (45) batted their side into a strong position. However, the introduction of Ben Murphy (5 for 37) into the attack prevented Rodmersham declaring until the 48th over with their total on 203 for 6, which left 52 overs for either side to force a result.

Whilst Bobbing Court lost wickets at regular intervals,. Richard Gower(75) dominated proceedings until he was dismissed in the 36th over with the score at 109 for 6. Despite ringing the bowling changes and setting attacking fields Rodmersham failed to force victory as the Bobbing Court hung on desperately to close on 148 for 9.Piet Botha (4 for 27) and Chris Whitehead (2 for 19) each bowled excellent 15 over spells.
