Rodmersham lost their first wicket with the score on 2. Trevor Jackson (60) and Kanul Patel (59) then proceeded to put on 153 for the second wicket in 29 overs. James Stickens then gave an excellent exhibition of stroke play, scoring 84* from 68 balls including 3 sixes and 10 fours. The Rodmersham innings closed at 274 for 4.
In such perfect batting conditions it was never going to be easy to bowl the opposition out. despite opener Dominic Adolphe(54) making life difficult for Rodmersham, New Ash Green were reduced to 115 for 7 after 34 overs. Darren Phillips (62*) was ably assisted by the tail enders as New Ash Green denied Rodmersham victory.
