With Steve Hickmott scoring 126 and Mr Extras 60 the other batsmen had to do little else than occupy the crease as Sibton Park posted a score of 261 for 7 dec.
The Rodmersham response stood at 40 for 4 after only 14 overs. From then on common sense prevailed as Rodmersham reached 175 for 7 to deny their opponents victory. Leading the way in this rearguard action was 15 year old Marc Bond(34) ably assisted by Trevor Jackson(27) and Dale Pout(27*).
Doubtless there will be an inquest into the Rodmersham bowling which conceded 20 wides and 3 no balls which added 39 runs to Extras and gave Sibton Park an additional 4 overs.
