An outstanding all round display by Piet Botha saw 10 man Rodmersham to a comfortable 5 wicket victory. Fielding first in intense heat Rodmersham restricted Old Elthamians to 167 for 9 from their 50 overs. Piet Botha (5for54) was outstanding amongst the bowlers, all of whom received excellent support in the field.
An opening partnership of 95 by Piet Botha (83*) and Dave Cogger (29) gave Rodmersham a sound start. The departure of Cogger triggered the loss of 4 cheap wickets but the confident Botha steadied the ship to guide Rodmersham to victory.
