Match Report

Rodmersham

v

Barbados Overseas

Match Type Kent League
Venue Bottles Lane
Date Sat 29th June 2002
Result Rodmersham (16pts) beat Barbados Overseas (0 pts) by 8 wickets.

An outstanding display of seam bowling by Chris Whitehead ( 8 for 40 from 17 overs ) decimated the batting of Barbados Overseas who are currently firm favourites to win the League. The Barbados openers struggled against bowling and fielding of the highest quality. With the score at 40 for 1 after 19 overs an abortive attempt to loosen the shackles resulted in Barbados being reduced to 55 for 8 after 25 overs. 9 overs later they were all out for 84.

In such good batting conditions Rodmersham had no problems in knocking off the required runs for victory and sending their illustrious visitors home without a League point to their name.
