v

Walmer II

Match Type Forester Kent League
Venue Bottles Lane
Date 11th August 2001
Result Rodmersham(20pts) beat Walmer (4pts) by 180 runs

Rodmersham's batsmen adapted well to the damp conditions with Peter Day(51), Tom Munden (37) and Hunter Gillies (31) all contributing well. Chris "Mr Versatility" Whitehead, promoted to the giddy heights of number 8, also weighed in with a well struck 29 towards Rodmersham's total of 222.

Walmer struggled against some excellent bowling with only one batsman reaching double figures as they collapsed to 42 all out in just 23.3 overs. Well though Rodmersham bowled, Walmer's contribution to their own downfall was considerable. Outstanding for Rodmersham were Neil Barton (4 wickets for 8 runs in 4 overs) and Kanul Patel (3 wickets for 13 runs from 6 overs).
