Played on a batsman's nightmare of a pitch which saw 20 wickets fall for a mere 189 runs, this game was reduced to a lottery. Tenterden elected to bat first and Lee Gregory(6 for 53) and Chris Whitehead(4 for 52) took full advantage of the conditions to dismiss them for 115 in 45 overs. This meager score included an excellent innings of 45* by T Piper which was to prove to be the difference between the two sides. 

As the Rodmersham batsmen struggled unsuccessfully against the adverse conditions it soon became obvious that this was one lottery to which they had not bought a winning ticket. They were eventually dismissed for 74 and left to rue the fact that not one of their batsmen came to terms with the conditions. Had they done so, the result could easily have been reversed.
