Result Broadstairs (20pts) beat Rodmersham (4pts) by 105 runs 

Broadstairs beat Rodmersham comfortably to go top of the Forester Kent League (2nd Div). The ease of their victory was due entirely to an outstanding display of batsmanship  by Terry Bond (119)on a pitch that favoured seam bowlers. Equally impressive was the bowling of Chris Whitehead who gave yet another outstanding performance taking 6 for 83 in 25 overs despite conceding 27 runs from his last 2 overs when Bond was in "lose the ball" mode.

The quality of the Bond innings was brought sharply into focus when Rodmersham, just like the other Broadstairs batsmen before them,  struggled to score runs and were all out for 114. It was left to Andrew Drury (40) to show the other Rodmersham batsmen the application and technique required to counter a sharply deviating ball. The fact that 9 of the Rodmersham batsmen were clean bowled said as much about their lack of technique as it did about the quality of the bowling.
