Match Report

Rodmersham

v

Catford Wanderers

Match Type Forest Kent League 1st XI Division II
Venue Rodmersham
Date 26th June 1999
Result Catford won by 3 wickets

Rodmersham again failed to close a game when Catford hit back to win with seven balls to spare. Rodmersham began poorly but recovered through Jim Ansley (69), Hunter Gillies (29) and Simon Morely (22) though the tail failed to win. All out for 191 Rodmersham committed the cardinal sin of not batting out their overs to give Catford 53 overs to reach the target. This they did after an opening stand of 84, though they were pegged back by the spin of Lincoln and the accuracy of Whitehead. In a tense finish Catford hit the winning runs leaving Rodmersham still looking for their first win.
