Rodmersham failed to come to terms with a wet wicket at Hythe, in the end failing by 26  runs to reach the required target. Hythe struggled early on agaisnt some fine bowling and fielding, and were in trouble at 62 for 5 off 32 overs. Big hitting by Hythe's Furnivol (54 no) enabled them to accelerate to 156. Rodmersham then struggled agaisnt their bowling with only Dave Cogger (46) showing enoough commitment to get stuck in on a difficult wicket.
