A lack luster performance by Rodmersham on this start of the season friendly handed Bapchild a comfortable three wicket victory. Dave Cogger apart, commitment and application were not much in evidence as batsmen contrived to get themselves out on a "bowler friendly" pitch. It was left to the lower order batsmen to gain a modicum of respectability to the final score of 119. Despite Phil Etherington, Justin Meredith and Neil Cheesman bowling a collective 18 overs for 32 runs, Martin Williams (22) and Simon Harrison (32) laid a sound foundation to ensure eventual victory for Bapchild.
